Why I’m Running

I’m running for Scituate School Committee because I believe in the transformative power of strong public schools and care deeply about the town my family is proud to call home.

My husband, Andrew, and I moved to Scituate in 2010 because we knew this was where we wanted to build our life and raise our family. Today, we are the proud parents of two children in Scituate Public Schools, and like so many families in this town, we care deeply about the strength of our schools and the experience our children are having in them each day.

I am largely a product of public schools myself, and that experience shaped me. It taught me how much schools matter, not only in what children learn, but in how they feel when they walk through the doors each day, whether they feel known, whether they feel they belong, and whether they are given the chance to grow into the fullest version of themselves. That belief stayed with me. I earned my B.S. in Political Science from Suffolk University and later my Master of Arts in Teaching from Simmons University, then began my career as an educator.

Over time, my work expanded into nonprofit and educational leadership. I have spent my career helping mission-driven organizations grow stronger through sound governance, steady leadership, and long-term planning. Today, I run an advisory business based in Scituate, where I work with nonprofit organizations, particularly educational institutions, on governance, leadership, and advancement.

I also volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. That work has deepened my belief that the well-being of the whole person matters and that the institutions serving children and families carry a real responsibility to lead with care.

I am running for School Committee because I want to bring my experience and sense of responsibility to this role. I believe Scituate needs school leadership that is steady, grounded, attentive to the full range of voices in our community, and focused on students. Every child should have the opportunity to learn in a school community where they are championed, challenged, and able to thrive.

This town means a great deal to my family, and serving it in this way would be a privilege.
